 My name is Mike Secker and I have just started a year of volunteering with Christian Aid in the West Region. My aim is to engage with young people by encouraging and enabling them to learn about and take action on world development issues such as climate change, HIV and tackling corruption. In addition to this I also aim to make clear links between Christian faith and issues of justice and solidarity.
For the next 10 months I will be available to youth, student and church groups in Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Within this role I shall be able to take group sessions, lead workshops, run games, film nights, presentations or help in any other way appropriate to the group and your own ideas or expectations.
In October I travelled to Sierra Leone with other young volunteers and met Christian Aid partner organisations and will happily share my experiences from the trip with youth groups.
