Chaplaincy to the Broadmead Shopping Quarter Christmas Markets

A new and exciting mission opportunity as developed for us at ISR to work within our calling of taking the Gospel message out into the world and serving people where they are.

From the 9th November to 29th December 2012, Bristol Shopping Quarter will be welcoming the return of The Bristol German Christmas Market. Alongside this will be the Local Christmas Market will be open every day from 6th December until 23rd December.

In addition to the wide range of stalls, the Christmas festivities in
Broadmead Shopping Quarter include a skating rink located at The Podium and Santa's Grotto in The Galleries.

During this busy period for the stall owners, and retails outlets, a group of Chaplains from ISR, will be working alongside, the permanent Retail Chaplain, Rev Andy Sewell, to offer pastoral support and a listening ear to staff and customers of the Christmas Market.

Andy believes it is; “a very important way to serve and support people, often working away from home, during a busy time of the year”.

The team are excited to have the opportunity to get alongside people where they are, and serve our local community in a very practical way.
