Remember Crocodile Man??

On Sunday 7th April Chris ran and conquered the Paris Marathon. We are happy to report he finished the gruelling course in just over 4 hours and 48 seconds. We are so proud of him. He was supported by two of our Get Sported camp children who each donated a pound. Chris on learning this said "I was really touched. I guess they did understand generosity on the first day!" Chris has now raised just over £500 for Get Sported and if you would like to sponsor Chris please click here.

Get Sported Camps Easter Update
During the first week of the Easter Holidays WSM Bristol piloted a new Get Sported children's holiday camp in partnership with Resound Church in Mangotsfield. To find out how God had his hand on this new camp click Here
The second week we were back at the Park. “Had an interesting but good three days running sports camp this week” was how one of our Young Leaders described her experience on camp. One of our children said “camp was awesome and amazing”. Last week 34 children attended our Sporting Star week. Going into camp we knew it was going to be a challenging week. Many of our pre booked children had ADHD and we had been advised by our local Primary School that we were being sent some vulnerable children. More Info..

Arise Bristol
World Sport Ministries Bristol has been invited to run the sports zone and we need your help! If you would like to come and get involved in helping run some football tournaments or family fun cricket games, then please get in touch with Iain Nash on 0117 3533153 or inash@worldsportministries.com
We will also have our very own “Sports” marquee which people can come and find out more about sports ministry, what we do and how to get involved. Please pray for us that we make new friendships, churches capture God’s vision that he has given us for reaching Bristol through sport and people will want to get involved as we look to build the ministry. The Noise Weekend
World Sport Ministries Bristol has been invited again to take part in The Noise by running football tournaments in the afternoon for the local communities of Horfield, Lockleaze and Southmead

Cricket Tournament - June
The much anticipated Cricket Tournament is coming up fast and we hope to see you there. Booking forms and cheques need to be in May 6th. There are still places - If you would like to enter a team or would like more information please click here and contact Akeel

CST Meetings
The Bristol team meets every other Monday to plan, pray and socialise. If you would like to come along and hear how God is directing the team in sport ministry post Games please email akeel@worldsportministries.com or phone: 0117 353-3153

PRAISE FOR:
* Prayers answered: Thanks for the children that we saw having a change in attitude and behaviour overnight. Thank you for the continuing building of relationships with parents, the local community and the children who attend camps.
* Get Sported Camp: Thanks for the availability of the 10 volunteers who gave up their time to serve on the Get Sported camps over the Easter holidays and for their passion and heart to work with children.
* Favour in Fundraising: School games being well received in Knowle Primary School and being able to successfully raise over £150

PRAYER SUPPORT:
* Pray for £225.00 for 50 Sports Bibles to give away at ARISE Bristol Pentecost Sunday Event
* Pray for those 17 children who came to Jesus over the Easter holidays. That God will to speak to them through their bibles and that they will continue to have revelation of His love for them when thinking about Get Sported camps.
* Pray that we may be continue to be blessed with funding for GET Sported and that our Spring Harvest application is successful.
* Pray for the fundraising projects being held in local primary schools in Victoria Park and St. Mary Redcliffe as we raise money for WSM Bristol. Praise for a great run for Chris Flethcher at the Paris Marathon and for the generous sponsorship from his supporters
* Please continue to pray for Arise Bristol and the Noise, that the people of Bristol will find God through these events and that we will meet lots of different people from all walks of life as we share with them.
* Please pray that £150 million that has been allocated Nationally will be allocated wisely for School sport.
