Back to the work God has called us to do!

transform sep14 1This is a time of year where many of us face the slighly difficult prospect of getting back into the daily routine after the weeks of summer, which hopefully have brought a chance to relax, enjoy good weather and perhaps a holiday. We sometimes have to pinch ourselves to remind us that God IS calling us to our workplaces, He IS interested in what we are doing, our work DOES have a purpose, and He DOES want to bless us, as we bless others, in our workplaces!

This summer we had the opportunity to exhibit at the Momentum and David's Tent events. Ros had a great time meeting up with lots of young Christians at Momentum and then perhaps a slighly more mature variety at David's Tent! Read her report here! While at the 2 events, she conducted a survey of how transform sep14 2people approcahed their work as Christians and how they connect with other Christians there. The survey results make interesting reading here.

As we head out of summer we've also been renewing our contacts with many groups that we've not spoken to for a while. It's been great to hear of groups flourishing and being active, particularly in national and local government! We also heard of BT's amazingly successful 'Big Conversation' with their staff networks, and of a small group in the east who have gained recognition as a staff network group from their managment, who now wnat to use them as an example for other diversity streams!

transform sep14 3We are regularly contacted by Christians who are looking for others to connect with in their workplaces. Be sure to look at our new 'Making Connections' page, where we list those that we're trying to connect with others. For example, are you a Christian working in health services in the Portsmouth/Isle of Wight areas?

Finally, the Eqaulity and Human Rights Commision is conducting a survey on how people's religion has affected their experiences in the workplace. Find out and be part of the survey more here.

Be blessed as you work!
