NPI

The Story So Far

The issues of parenting, family life and child protection are once again the subject of national debate and the demand for high quality courses and initiatives designed to support parents is growing.

Consequently, this is an important and exciting time for the NPI. Our vision is that any parent in the UK will be able to enter their postcode on the NPI website and find a parenting course near them. The goal is to encourage parenting courses to be run by churches everywhere in the British Isles and to make it easy for parents to access them.

We currently have 698 parenting courses registered on the NPI website and this number is growing month by month.

We know there are many more high quality parenting courses run by churches in your areas that are currently unregistered and we need your help to connect them as soon as possible. We hope and pray that we are able to join with church communities across the UK in order to grow our network and eventually host the details of courses the length and breadth of the country.

Parenting matters, and we believe the churches of our nation have a vital role to play in shaping and supporting a generation of parents. God needs everyone, and the wonderful thing about this work is that anyone with a passion for parenting and family life can get involved – not just the experts!

We hope 2015 will see a massive expansion in this vital work.

Recent Developments

One of the most exciting developments for us in the last few months has been the decision to register NPI as a charity.  Since the establishment of the national parenting initiative in 2012 and the formation of the pilot project in Bristol and the South West, the work has been very much from the grassroots - linking churches together, advocating excellent parenting projects and supporting those who are involved in this work.

We feel the time is right to transform the NPI into a charity in order to allow the work to flourish nationally. These are exciting times. God is using the church to transform parenting, to be a point to help for those who are really struggling and to show our nation God’s vision for family life.
