The awards are free to enter, and offer all certificate holders and award winners a visible way to show their customers that fair and ethical trade is at the heart of their business.

2017 South West Fairtrade Business Awards Open for Applications!



The South West Fairtrade Business Awards are now open for applications to all businesses in the south west region.

Now in their fifth year, the Awards reward businesses that demonstrate commitment to using and promoting Fairtrade. They are free to enter and declare a fair and ethical business FTBA logoethos for all businesses that meet the criteria, who are rewarded with an e-logo, certificate and seats at the Awards ceremony. Winners of each category receive a unique trophy designed by Bristol Blue Glass.

Winning a Fairtrade Business Award identifies your business as Fair and Ethical and is a great motivator to staff and customers. Bristol business, Minuteman Press, winners of the Best Fairtrade Office Award 2016 said " Winning the award was the most wonderful way for the team to be recognised and meant so very much to all of us personally.  Our association with Fairtrade has drawn positive comments, clients and suppliers expressing the desire to work with us having recognised our deliberate actions in choosing to work with and promote Fairtrade. The award has attracted additional business, which is a delightful bonus.?”

In 2016, 68 businesses in the region achieved bronze, silver and gold Awards.

There are 7 categories:
1.                   Best Fairtrade Office
2.                   Best Fairtrade Retailer –single product
3.                   Best Fairtrade Retailer – multiple products
4.                   Best Fairtrade Café or Restaurant
5.                   Best Fairtrade Accommodation or Conference Centre
6.                   Best Fairtrade University or College, sponsored by Triodos
7.                   Best Fairtrade Advocate Award, sponsored by SWTUC
 
The best Fairtrade Business 2017 is selected from the winners of these categories.

The Awards Ceremony in 2017 will take place on Friday 10th March 11.30am-2pm at Bristol Cathedral.

The Fairtrade Brunch and business to business Networking at the Ceremony is sponsored by charity Shared Interest Foundation, which supports fair trade businesses in developing countries.
