Fresh Vision: A week of prayer and fasting for social action

18-25 JANUARY 2017



During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Together4Bristol and Christian Action Bristol have called for a week of prayer and fasting to prepare for us all for transformation of our city through engaging in social action.
  • Joel 1:14 Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.
  • Ezekiel 40:4  Son of man, look carefully and listen closely and pay attention to everything I am going to show you, for that is why you have been brought here. 
We hope that Christians across Bristol will pray individually and in their churches throughout the week for guidance on how we can best engage with our localities and with wider issues of social justice, seeking:
  • A fresh vision of our individual relationship with God;
  • A fresh awareness of how we can work together as Christians for the good of our communities; and
  • A sharper focus on who or what He wants us personally to get involved with, how to go about this and what resource to release to enable this to happen.

Two cross-church events are planned:


Weds 18 Jan 2017: Christchurch, Clifton Down Road, Clifton BS8 4AH
9am-9:30pm: Social action focus during the evening session, 7.00pm-9:30pm
Conference on City Transformation with Kris Vallotton, member of Core Leadership, Bethel Church, Redding, CA


Sat 21 Jan 2017: City Church, Elmgrove Centre, Elmgrove Road, Redland BS6 6AH
Burn 24/7: worship and prayer with social action focus, 4.00pm-10.00pm
