Main Speakers

 

Dr David Golding

David is Honorary Chaplain at Newcastle University. He is the Development Coordinator of Make Poverty History North East; a founder member of the national board of Jubilee Debt Campaign; a voluntary spokesperson for Tearfund; a supporter of WDM and Speak; and a member of Whitley Bay Baptist Church. He is married to Veronica, a most active campaigning colleague, and has two married daughters and three grandchildren

 

Paula Clifford

Dr Paula Clifford has worked for Christian Aid for the past 12 years and is currently Head of Theology based in their head office in London. During 2007-2008 she was also the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Adviser on Climate Change.

Paula is an Anglican Lay Reader in the Oxford Diocese, where she is licensed to two churches in central Oxford. She also travels extensively speaking on development issues and contributes to academic publications, as well as writing books, most recently 'Angels with trumpets: the church in a time of global warming'.

 

Steve Webb MP

Steve Webb is the Liberal Democrat MP for Thornbury and Yate and the Minister of State for Pensions. He previously shadowed Ed Miliband in the Dept for Energy and Climate Change.

He is also a member of the cross-party Christians in Parliament and vice-president of the Liberal Democrat Christian Forum.

 

Tigist Grieve

Tigist is a PhD Researcher in International Development at the University of Bath. She also serves as a volunteer programme manager for the charity For Ethiopia based in Bristol, which she co-founded in 2004 to provide practical aid projects in Western Ethiopia. She is a member of Woodlands Church, Bristol.
