Thursday 3rd March 2011

The Fairtrade Fiesta event is a major celebration for Fairtrade Fortnight in Bristol.
The event, a partnership between Bristol Fairtrade Network and Ujima Radio, aims to promote Fairtrade in the local community of St Paul's and Easton and demonstrate the difference Fairtrade can make to farmers in developing countries.

The evening (6.30-9pm) will be a fiesta of free food tastings, music, Fairtrade stalls, films, children's activities and speakers. There will also be an exhibition on Fairtrade by local Youth project, Full Circle .

There will also be a short talk from Jitzy Centano, a Fairtrade coffee producer from Nicaragua who is in Bristol for Fairtrade Fortnight (28th Feb-13th March
http://www.fairtrade.org.uk/show_off_your_label/).

Local artists and dance groups will be performing to show their support for Fairtrade.cotton picking

The event is free to attend and suitable for all ages.

Note: Fairtrade provides a fair and regular income for farmers from poorer countries; it guarantees a living wage, better working conditions, no child labour and sustainability. Look for the Fairtrade mark. fairtrade logo
