First Olympic torch relay locations announcedmorethangold

THE FIRST LOCATIONS for the London 2012 Torch Relay have been announced. Starting 12 May next year, they take the icon on a 70 day cavalcade through every nation and region of the UK.

More Than Gold is setting up task forces where the Torch will stop overnight. They will coordinate involvement in the local celebrations that will take place. And those interested in being involved should email

Churches on the route will also be able to serve the crowds and be part of a continuous prayer chain. A free resource kit to help them is in production.

'There is nothing like the Torch Relay,' says Australian Sarah Jane Alley who experienced it during the Sydney Games and now heads up More Than Gold's Torch Relay Team. 'People come in their thousands to watch the spectacle and join the party'.
