Bristol Academy of Live Performing Arts (BALPA)

balpa big

Inspire Arts Trust is very excited to let you know about Bristol Academy of Live Performing Arts (BALPA) which is ready to open its doors to the first term of courses in September at our state-of-the-art performing arts centre in the heart of Thornbury. We are offering high quality, accredited arts training and performance opportunities for the whole community and for all ages, including adult courses in dance.

As you can see from the attached flyer we run courses in musical theatre for ages 8 – 16, street dance for ages 5 – 16, vocals for ages 12 – 16 and band & instruments for ages 11-18.

Those who enrol onto our Vocal and Band & Instruments course will have the option to take their Trinity Guildhall Exams during the year through an extra session of classes, so that BALPA students can gain nationally recognised qualifications. During the year, for all the courses that we offer BALPA students will be able to have input from experienced musicians and dancers and also have the chance to participate in masterclasses from West End vocal tutors, theatre directors and teachers from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). At the end of every term there will be an end of year show to give students the chance to perform in front of a local audience as well as opportunities throughout the year to perform at other theatre shows and local events. Not only all of these exciting performance opportunities are included throughout the year, but exclusively for BALPA students, once a year, students will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of an industry panel who will be able to give individual advice about their talents, direction and future.

BALPA is not only offering classes to young people, but we want the whole community to benefit from the great resources that we have to offer, so we are very excited to be starting our Dance Classes especially for adults. This is a place to have fun and learn to dance, as well as getting fit at the same time.

From September BALPA is also offering individual lessons in guitar, bass, drums, vocals and dance for all ages, including adults. Booking forms for these courses can be found on the attached flyer along with more information about the courses. Bursary funding is available for all the BALPA courses, if you would like more information about our bursary places or any of our courses please don’t hesitate in contacting me by either phoning the office on 01454 414880 or emailing me at .
