Soul Surfer Movie – Launching in the UK 22nd Sep ( Premier, Newquay ) Country wide 23rd Sep

Amazing true story of a young girl (One of the best female surfers in the world) who was attacked by a shark, and nearly died, but despite everything continues to be an inspiring example of having faith in God. This is a story that illustrates how trusting in God and knowing He has a plan for your life is the key to overcoming even the worst situations.

The amazing movie ’Soul Surfer’ is coming to over 116 cinema’s in the UK from Friday September 23rd September. SOUL SURFER is the inspiring true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack and courageously overcame all odds to become a champion again, through her sheer determination and unwavering faith. The film features an all-star cast, including
Anna Sophia Robb and Helen Hunt, with Carrie Underwood in her film debut, and Dennis Quaid.
In the wake of this life-changing event that took her arm and nearly her life, Bethany's feisty
determination and steadfast beliefs spur her toward an adventurous comeback that gives her
the grit to turn her loss into a gift for others.bethany Large

Bethany’s story exemplifies personal faith, family unity, the guiding influence of a Christian youth-group leader, and the trust of a 13-year-old girl who, weeks before the accident, began praying that God would make clear her purpose in life.

New York Times review states: ‘The film presents Bethany’s efforts to get back in competition; her fitful, painful setbacks; and a lesson in context when she helps tsunami victims on a volunteer church expedition to Thailand.

The movie dazzles in its surfing sequences, in which the director, Sean McNamara, works nimble editing and a tropical palette to a fine sheen. And Ms. Robb makes an appealing Bethany, wounded but determined and largely self-reliant. During the closing credits the real Ms. Hamilton appears on screen and thanks Jesus in voice-over. While this story is certainly about faith, “Soul Surfer” is most inspiring when it exalts faith in one’s self’

The movie will be widely shown throughout the UK, in many ‘Vue’, ‘Cineworld’, ‘Odeon’, and ‘Reel’ cinemas. For a full listing see www.christiansurfers.co.uk

It’s a fantastic movie, and well worth watching, it will inspire far more than the surfing community, and shows how Bethany’s faith remains real through it all.

There are a very few tickets left for the premier at £10 per ticket( With Bethany in attendance ) on 22nd September at the British Surf Film Festival at the Lighthouse Theatre in Newquay. www.britishsurffilmfestival.com Go online to purchase tickets.
