Your quick fire WSM news - On the run!

Partnering. Planting. Proclaiming.

Thanks for standing with us in prayer and support. We had a wonderful end to the summer and Autumn has begun with a bang!

Kenyan Sports Conference
Hot off the press!! WSM Kenya partnered with churches and other ministries to stage their first Kenyan Sports Conference on Saturday 29th October. Over 200 delegates enjoyed seminars in the morning and workshops on sports related mission in the afternoon. The Lord also brought in many local sports people of which some gave their heart to the Lord Jesus that day!

Youth Sports Leadership Development
On 27th October, Teenage leaders gathered in Bath for a day of training, discipleship and mentoring. Using the Biblical example of David, we delivered 4 quality sessions of experiential learning focusing on Character, Faith, Skills and Mission. All of the young leaders were massively impacted with one in-particular as he committed his life to Jesus.

Get Sported Camps reach many children
During the summer holidays 437 children attended our brilliant sports camps for 5-12 year old children in Bath, South Bristol and Frome where 81 of them committed or recommitted their lives to Jesus. There was so much life change over the 4 weeks and 6 different camps including 5 children who were all in the same small group in Frome and 'stayed behind' at lunchtime to fully commit to Jesus; all of them desired to hear the voice of the Lord and so having prayed, one of them received a vision and 2 others heard exactly the same word of encouragement from the Lord in their spirit's at the same time! A parent called Tina in Bath also stated that "The words Ben's coach speaks to him - stick!"
Last week Get Sported was back where over 100 children were reached in Frome and Bath with great ministry and lot's of life change. Today we received an email from a mother telling us how 'Michael was so impacted and blessed by camp last week that he is reading the Sports New Testament he received regularly.

Sports Tournaments sow seed
WSM Bath continued to stage their monthly tournaments with adult 5 a side football and separate netball events occurring in both September and October where church based teams invite guests to play, hear a testimony and the gospel and then relaxed together and chat over a drink and some food. After two months off 'Teen Kick-Off' for 13-15 year olds was a big hit on 17th October and is growing with attendance and momentum.

Mens Breakfast and Screening impacts over 90
On Sat Oct 3rd, WSM Bath partnered with MenUnited to stage a breakfast for almost 100 men in central Bath with Christians Surfer UK Director Phil Williams speaking powerfully about how he came to know the Lord and his subsequent step of faith into full time ministry. It was really encouraging and Phil got to pray for a number of men. This was deliberately followed by the screening of the England v Scotland Rugby World Cup game which created plenty of atmosphere!

New ministry Start-Ups
Through the encouragement of More Than Gold, WSM contributed to the launches of Olympic fever planned ministry teams in Frome, Somerset and Trowbridge, Wiltshire where a good number of enthusiasts from local churches attended vision casting meetings to listen and contribute to potential community ministry over the next 12 months.
WSM has also amended and donated it's 'How to start a Community Sports Team' manual which has been made available to hundreds of churches in the UK and other agencies overseas in the hope that it can help many new streams of sports ministry impact people for Jesus.
