Stokes Croft Street Market & Stokes Croft Winter Fayre
The Stokes Croft Markets Group is working to bring a high quality street market to Stokes Croft. A place for shoppers to meet and buy quality, affordable, seasonal local food, art and products at fair prices.
The members of the steering group are from; No.51 Stokes Croft; Coexist, The Matthew Tree Project, Community Kitchen, The Canteen, The Alternative Supermarket, Lakota, Poco, The Bear Pit Improvement Group, Bristol City Council, St Paul's Unlimited and The Full Moon.
The Stokes Croft Winter Fayre is the first event organized by the Stokes Croft Market Group.
Planned for Dec 17th 11am-6pm the fayre, as well as being a winter celebration with a festive feel, will be used as a public consultation to see what the community would like from a weekly market. Planned attractions will be an arts and crafts market at Hamilton House, a Christmas market at The Full Moon, street food, community music workshops and car boot sale at Lakota, Carol singing and flea market in the Bear Pit, a Santa’s Grotto, community decorate Stokes Croft workshops leading up to the event, carol singing on Turbo Island, St Pauls Unlimited winter window display competition, market stalls, BBQ, roast chestnuts, hot cider, street music / theater, art and much more!
The weekly Stokes Croft Street Market will then commence some time next year and we are hoping that local people will play a significant role in its beginnings and ongoing success.
There will be a limited number of market stalls in various locations, currently NO 51, The Full Moon, Lakota and Hamilton House.
