Marriage Week Celebrating Commitment

When: Tuesday 7th -14th February

Where: All round the UK

We all know that even strong marriages need encouragement from time to time. Marriage Week UK is a week to celebrate marriage and help couples build stronger, healthier relationships for the whole year round.

This year Marriage Week takes place from 7-14 February. The Evangelical Alliance is part of Marriage Week along with many other charities that care about marriage. This annual event is a great opportunity to help couples in your church and community celebrate marriage.

What's going on?

Throughout Marriage Week events will be going on up and down the country along with a few key events in London. If nothing is happening in your area it's not too late to visit www.marriage-week.org.uk and arrange an event.

Alliance general director Steve Clifford will be chairing ‘Talk Marriage’ on Tuesday 7 February, 6-8.30pm, with a range of speakers including Ann Clifford, Les Isaac (Street Pastors) and Harry Benson (Bristol Community Family Trust). This is a great chance to come and be inspired about how you and the church can do more to promote and sustain healthy marriages. The event takes place at the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster, London and is free, you just need to register at www.talkmarriage.co.uk or call 0845 600 9121.

On Thursday 9 February the Relationships Foundation and 2-in-2-1 are hosting a day conference on relationships education. This conference provides an opportunity to learn from the very best research and practice and build stronger links between organisations and practitioners. The conference is chaired by Sir Paul Coleridge, High Court Judge in the family division and includes top speakers including Professor Scott Stanley from the Center for Marital and Family Studies, University of Denver, Colorado, USA and Katherine Hill, director of family policy at Care for the Family. For more information and to book in visit the Relationships Foundation website.
