An update from Crisis Centre Ministries
I hope you all had a good Christmas and new years, as it
is now February it seems like a long time ago. I am writing
to you to inform you of three events happening over the next month.
Firstly: last night Alan Goddard, Wild Goose Manager, was on HTV West
last night to talk about alcoholism, there has been a recent report which
points to Bristol having seen a 93% increase in cases of liver cirrhosis.
These are worrying statistics and an interesting watch, here is the link:
http://www.itv.com/westcountry-east/fullprogramme/. Alan's piece is the
lead item, 1 min 25 to 4 mins into the programme.
Secondly: Alan, in late February, will be sleeping rough on the streets
to raise awareness of homelessness, in addition to raising funds towards
the publication of his autobiography. Eleven years ago Alan spent a year
on the streets suffering from chronic problems due to his alcoholism.
Thankfully Alan has been sober for over ten years now and lives happily
with his wife in Clevedon, but he is very keen to continue raising
awareness of homelessness, and with a number of hostels being closed
recently, due to funding cuts, homelessness is on the rise. For more
information, please visit Alan's website:
Finally: CCM are participating in this years Sleep Out, on Friday 2nd
March, at Pip 'n' Jay's Church in centre Bristol, and we are seeking
people to take part and raise money for CCM. If you are interested in
taking part, or finding out more information, please reply to this email
address below and I can send you information about the event or sponsorship forms.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers.
God bless Jonathan
