WSM bristol
I hope that January didn't pass you by as quickly as it seemed to for us. We had a great start to the year in planning outreach events. We are already taking booking forms for our fourth Cricket Tournament in June. Last week we kicked off our Park Championship football tournament. Five multi sport camps for children between 5 and 12 years old have been booked and we are praying to reach 200 Knowle and Downend children. We have been receiving enquiries to help out with various Olympic events and are looking forward to serving  and delivering sport in Bristol.

February Events
This month we met with Clive, a key person at the Park, and also Alistair, Positive Futures for a chat about partnerships and how we can serve the community; youth, children and their families. We are blessed to be on the Park's radar for potential new relationships with community based projects and God is continually opening doors in the unlikeliest places. We will keep you posted on developments as they come through.
On our Radar this month: Monday 13th February Henry Olonga will be speaking at Bristol University. Wednesday 15th February the team will be attending a More than Gold get together meeting. We encourage you to go a More than Gold Training event on March 3rd in Bath. Wednesday 29th February Planning meeting with Christchurch, Downend for sports camp and an adult sports quiz.

Football Tournament - Monday 29th January
On an extremely chilly Monday night eighteen guys braved the cold to play in a friendly at the Park.  The three teams played their socks off for twelve minute games. Matt's Cosmic team won the night with 10 points. It was great to see a new team come and join us. Pip'n Jay were missed and we hope that they will be back to steal back their title in March. Thank you to Damian who shared a short testimony just before the lights went out. Looking forward to seeing you at the next tournament on Monday 26th March. We are looking for teams to come and play in a 6-a-side friendly. Please email Damian if you would like to enter a team.  "Our guys really enjoyed the footy torno, despite the cold conditions! So thanks to all of the WSM team organising it. I was personally encouraged by the friendly and fun atmosphere that was created." said Matt.

CST Meetings
The Bristol team meets every other Monday to plan, pray and socialise. If you would like to
come along and hear how God is directing the team in sport ministry to embrace the Olympics please email or phone: 0117 353-3153

Fundraising Projects
We are currently surrounded by bags filled with clothes, paired shoes and sports wear. In a whip round around the Park numerous businesses, friends and family have donated bags. We have also received  items  to take to the Fruit Market Carboot Sale on Saturday 11th February. We hope to raise £ 200. The proceeds will go towards our much needed funding to put on our Get Sported camps this year.
Fundraising update: Kilimanjaro has raised £30 so far and Fran's Half marathon £10. A good start but please continue to support by praying. Fran's half is less than a month away (March 11th) for the Bath Half: For more information on how to sponsor us or find out about our training please email
