NGM News - May ngm

Hi everyone – This is the month where we send our teams to the poorest of the poor.  One team is working in Mozambique and one in South Africa. What a privilege for those going to discover that when they give to those who cannot give back to them, that in a wonderful way God impacts their lives too.  Every year our teams come back with God having done something deep in them.  God loves it when we reach out to those around us who are suffering and who cannot repay us.  Can we remind you though that the poor in the UK might not look like those we see in Africa.  We have many who are ‘poor’ around us every day, but our eyes are closed to their difficulties/problems/situations.  Many years ago, Ray and I lived next door to a young couple who had a little baby.  For months in between our missions with Heartbeat in the UK, Ray and I said we must get to know our neighbours but because our lives were busy it never happened.  Several months later, I happened to see the wife in the garden and started to talk with her.  I discovered that their baby had died and because of the pain of this the couple were splitting up and the house had been sold.  They were just about to leave the area.  We were devastated!  We had people living next to us who were hurting and we didn’t know about it.  We had not seen the hurt and did not respond to the Lord’s little nudges.  Let’s ask the Lord to open our eyes and open our hearts to those around us who are suffering today.  Let’s be courageous and befriend those who are needy and I know for sure that the Lord will reward each of us for doing so.  Thanks for your love, care and support of the work of ngm.....thank you for standing with us as we continue to impact our culture with the good news that we carry! With our love and thanks – RAY AND NANCY GOUDIE

Bookings are still coming in for our Boot Camp Summer School which is from 29th July-4th August 2012 for 13-19 year olds.  We are nearly fully booked with only 2 places left.   If you know of any teenagers that are interested in coming to ngm to receive mentoring and tuition in either dance, vocals, Djing; presenting or musicianship and would be up for discipleship each morning and evening, then  please contact the office on 01454 414880 or email Amy Tucker  - .  We are really expectant for all that God is going to do during this dynamic week as he pours out his power and love us all and we know that will many lives will be changed as a result.

Last month saw a group travel to Spring Harvest to work with the young people there.  It was an amazing couple of days building relationships with the youth and seeing them meet God in the reality of their lives.  In the evenings they ran a music café for the young to people drop-in and it was an ideal place for the young people to experience creativity and freedom throughout their time there.  Please do pray that God will open more doors for us to impact churches as we release God’s heart to people of all ages through music and the arts.

This month two of our teams head off to Mozambique and South Africa for two weeks of serving in practical ways.  We have had a great partnership with Iris Ministries over many years which is directed by Rolland and Heidi Baker.  Some of our staff and students will spend their time feeding orphans, praying with people and being part of the community in Pemba, Mozambique.  The other team will travel to our dear friends at Sparrow Village in South Africa to help with orphans who have been affected by the AIDS epidemic.  We have been sending teams to both of these places for many years and therefore we know that both teams will be hugely impacted by what they do and what they see.  Please do pray protection for both our teams as they travel long hours, and also that God would bless them as they serve and give out to others.

Last month we had the privilege of Joe Harmston (Director of the Prodigals) visit ngm for a couple of days to work with our students and also spend time writing with Ray.  What a great time our students had working with someone who is so hugely talented.  It was also a very productive time for Ray and Joe as they continue to develop the story of the musical.  We still need to see God provide the money needed to see the story of the Prodigal Son released through the UK – the doors are all open – it now just needs the money!
