Human Trafficking & the PCC Electionscare impact

Many of you will be aware of the elections being held across England and Wales (excepting London) on 15 November to enable people to vote for the first time for a Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for their local area.  This is a fantastic opportunity for Christians to be salt and light in our local communities and, by engaging with the election process, we can seek to elect candidates who are committed to standing up for the most vulnerable individuals in our communities.

CARE continues to work hard to ensure the UK is doing everything possible to fight human trafficking and support victims of human trafficking.  Newly elected PCCs will play an important role in holding police forces accountable and we therefore have a fantastic window of opportunity to urge PCC candidates to make tackling human trafficking a priority in their (and therefore your!) local area.

Our new website – www.makethecrosscount-pcc.org.uk – includes lots of information about what Police and Crime Commissioners will be able to do, why – as Christians – we should be involved with the election and how the election is being conducted.

We hope you will make the most of this chance to “seek the welfare of the city” (Jeremiah 29:7) you are in and get involved with the PCC elections.

Do visit the website to find out more and contact us if you have any questions.
