Transforming your Workplace - Going Deeper
On Saturday 31st August members of the Transform Work UK (TWUK) team ventured over to Colston Hall in Bristol for the 'Going Deeper', Churches Together event. An opportunity to link with the church community in Bristol and other Christian organisations working in the area, it was really great to be part of the day thanks to Hugh Webber - TWUK's South West Ambassador.
Hugh, through networking with other Christian Workplace Groups (CWGs) and Organisations, was invited to run a seminar on the day on transforming our workplaces and we also manned an exhibition stand at the event. Needless to say, the TWUK team came together to help out and we had a great TWUK informal team meeting. It was exciting to be able to connect new TWUK team members face to face, build relationally and plan together for the future!
Hugh and Ros delivered an interactive seminar debunking the myths surrounding workplace issues for Christians such as: 'Christians can't meet together at work' - of course you can, just check out all our testimonies from CWG leaders
; and 'you're not able to share your faith at work' - yes you are, it's the way you tell em!
We of course went on to share good news stories of what Christians are up to in the workplace through their CWGs and it was wonderful to be able to have Trevor Payne, ex Chair of Christians in Government UK with us who was able to talk first hand about the importance of CWGs in planning large scale Christmas events. You can read about the 2000 civil servants who attended the Whitehall Carol Service in 2012
. This wouldn't have happened without this amazing CWG.
If you would like to know more about what you can do to raise the profile of your CWG at Christmas
, please get in touch.
If you feel the call of God on you to start a CWG in your workplace, please get in touch: ros.turner a_t transformworkuk d_o_t org
