Multi-Media E-Book Launch - 'Notes From The Shallow End'

Dear friends,

You may remember that last year we published a book of ‘the stories behind, beyond and between the songs’ from the album. It seems like people are andy 1 5556enjoying it, and we are slowly dragging ourselves into the digital age and releasing it as an e-book. But it’s far from a normal e-book. Through the genius of some great people, it is an all-singing, all dancing e-book (or ASAD e-book as some might call it!) It features 11 videos (including music vids), audio tracks, weblinks to other resources/agencies mentioned and most significantly Lloyd Kinsley’s beautiful artwork, photography and design.

This video lets you see inside the book - http://bit.ly/flan-ebookyt

You can order the e-book here - http://bit.ly/flan-ebook

If e-books aren’t your cup of tea then please do consider forwarding news of this to others. My hope is that this will be a brilliant tool to help people Andy 2 2728dig further behind the stories and thinking that permeate the book. It is specifically written to be accessible to anyone at all and is hopefully jargon-free, so please do help get the word out by tweeting, emailing or Facebooking the above links to others. It’s a great deal when you consider all the tracks from the album are there, plus videos, plus the text/artwork for less than the price of the CD or the book! So if you do want to introduce someone to all this stuff, it’s a very cheap way to do so! May more people discover some hope in the midst of these broken things.

Here is what some kind folks have said about it. They were not paid.

‘Andy Flanagan is a poet, a troubadour, and a master storyteller. His words are like incense, rising out of the muck and pain and poetry of the margins...  and they add a special fragrance to the world that must make God and the angels smile.’

Shane Claiborne Andy 3 4950

'Beautiful, beguiling, provocative stories from one of my favourite people. Give Flan a chance and he'll make you feel things and think things and do things that matter. He'll sing you a song, tell you a folksy story and somehow, smilingly reach through your heart to mess with your brain until everything looks a little more hopeful.'

Pete Greig, Founder 24-7 prayer

‘Andy is an agitator, a poet-warrior. He pierces the heart and twists the stomach. He doesn’t shy away from a fight against injustice and the glorious things about these reflections is his honesty that his biggest fight is often within himself.’

Rachel Gardner, Romance Academy

“Having fallen in love with the songs and been deeply challenged by the book, I have found it very inspiring to access them in what is literally a new art form.”

Phil Stokes – Leader, The Well Community Church and Transform Southwark

‘Creative, insightful, compassionate, challenging, thought-provoking, inspiring… I love what Andy has done here. It is something quite out-of-the-ordinary, so take some time to let it seep into you and change how you see and do life.’

Dr Ruth Valerio

Churches and Theology Director, A Rocha UK

I hope you enjoy it!
