A Time to be Light!

transform wk nov14 1Christmas is approaching! The time when we celebrate Jesus The Light coming into the world is a brilliant time for us truly to be Light in our workplaces. Jesus said ‘You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden’. If you’re in a Christian Workplace Group, what can you be doing in your workplace to be Light this Christmas – a carol service perhaps, send Christmas cards, bake a Christmas cake for others?

Here are some ideas of Christmas activities that have been used by groups in the past. Do let us know what you’re doing and, afterwards, how the activity goes. Read here how the leader of the Council transform wk nov14 2Group at Ealing, London, sees the opportunity of Christmas and is encouraging her group as they prepare. If you’re not currently in the workplace, please join us in praying for all workplace Christian outreach events this Christmas.

Don’t forget also Operation Christmas Child, packing up presents in shoeboxes for children around the world who would not otherwise receive them. Could this be something your group could do on behalf of your organisation?

transform wk nov14 3This month, we’ve been continuing to re-connect with groups we haven’t been in touch with for a while, and also meeting many new groups. Praise God for these centres of Light across the nation! Is your group searchable on our website? If not please get in touch so we can raise your profile.

Last week, Ros met up with themedianet’s new coordinator, Paul Arnold. themedianet is a Christian Professional Group that seeks to network and support those working in media – TV, radio, on-line, news, PR and communications. It was great to hear of their vision for bringing a clear Christian transform wk nov14 4perspective to the media world.

Earlier this week, Adrian was the guest speaker at the Christian Police Association's leaders’ conference. He spoke on structuring and building thriving Holy Spirit-led workplace groups. Around 60 CPA branch leaders were present, drawn from all over the UK. It was great to see such a well attended and vibrant event held by a professional association which was founded in 1883!

Finally, don’t forget our on-line guide to starting a new Christian Workplace Group, our conferences in London and Coventry, our calendar of Christian workplace-related events, and check out our list of latest articles published on the website.

Be blessed as you work!
