Get ready for GATHERNORTH
gather1
Our next key event is GATHERNORTH. Taking place on Tuesday, 3 March, to Wednesday, 4 March 2015. We really urge you to get this date in your diary as soon as you can.

GATHERNORTH will be held at Studio4, Dallas Court, Salford Quays, Manchester, M50 2GF. This venue is in the heart of Media City in Salford.

GATHERNORTH is the start of a prophetic transformational conversation that will have its impact in our northern villages, towns, cities and boroughs. GATHERNORTH is about positioning and connecting leaders involved in church, Christian organisations and cultural spheres, to be ready for this prophetic opportunity.

GATHERNORTH will address the growing national issue concerning the renewal and transformation of the north of England. What is the future of this great region? As budget cuts and welfare changes begin to take effect, and politicians discuss regionalisation, what is the voice and role of the Church? What influence can Christian leaders in business, arts, media, local politics and other spheres really have?

GATHERNORTH will bring together Christian leaders from churches, unity movements and secular spheres to pray together, discuss and begin to discern God’s vision for the north of England.

So what is a unity movement anyway?

One thing is clear; we are seeing a new and prophetic movement of church leaders who are relating together for the purpose of mission. This movement is based on prayer and founded on strong relationships. It goes beyond polite ecumenicalism, and extends into a shared life together. The DNA of these movements is based around three activities; commitment to pray for the locality; commitment to pray for each other and a commitment to developing relationships at leadership level.

The emphasis of a unity movement is based upon agreement; it is about participating in a fellowship of sharing and solidarity, supporting other members in their needs and struggles, celebrating with them their joys and hopes rather than identifying areas for disagreement. It is a priority to nurture concrete opportunities for shared worship and prayer while respecting the limitations imposed by specific traditions.

We are working to see churches from all denominations across our country working together for the good of their town or city. It’s exciting to see the prayer of Christ in Gethsemane being answered across the world: "That they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me." http://tv.gather.global
