Save Premier Christian Radio
Parliament has spoken. Now it’s time to push on to victory.
Last night something truly remarkable happened.
Led by the Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP the future of Premier’s National Digital licence and 'Diversity in Broadcasting' was the subject of a House of Commons adjournment debate.
That the debate took place is something to thank God for in and of itself, but what the MPs said was beyond our expectations. Together they praised Premier for its service and called for a solution that would allow us to continue broadcasting nationally into the future.
Importantly the Rt Hon Ed Vaizey, Minister for Culture and the Digital Economy, said “This is an important radio station—one I support wholeheartedly” and “I hope that, in this instance, Arqiva [the transmission provider] does do the right thing by Premier”. A full transcript from Hansard is available on our website.
The fight is not over
As welcome and helpful as the MPs words are, ultimately they cannot compel the transmission provider to allow us to continue broadcasting. However, we are beginning to see the fruit of the support of the thousands of Premier listeners who have signed our petition and are the driving force behind this progress.
Now is the time to push on and claim the victory I believe and pray God has in store for us. You can make the difference. Sign the petition and share it as widely and loudly as you can - in doing so, I believe we will secure a strong Christian voice on the airwaves for future generations. “This is the day the Lord has made”(Psalm 118:24), let’s make sure we seize the opportunity afforded us today.
God bless you,
