WSM May 15 1

Thank you for continuing to stand strong with us. It was really exciting to be involved in the Noise again this year and be invited to Gloucester to show God's love in practical ways. Please read below how we got on.

The Noise
We had a fabulous weekend at the Noise. In total 100 children joined us over the weekend for football. It was amazing to be part of a weekend that engaged 920 volunteers in 10 communities in North and East Bristol to simply show God's love in practical ways. We took on 2 of the 3 football sessions over the weekend. We were really happy to be joined by a great team of volunteers who help us put on a massive afternoon of football fun for the children 5 to 12 years old. Both days we had an opportunity to share with the children that God loved them and why we were there. Big thank you to Simon, Adrian, Mike, Steve, Emily, Davies, Sam, Dave and everyone who prayed for us. We loved that Andy, one of our Young Leaders, joined us as well.

Gloucester Party in the Park
Akeel and Davies went up to Gloucester on the Bank Holiday Monday. The church invited all their neighbours to Chapel Hay Park to join them for a party on bouncy castles, face painting and some sport. About 1000 attended over the day. Of those 50+ children came by to join them to play frisbee, cricket and football. It was really exciting to see ten of the church youth group come out to help us deliver the sport. Like the Noise the festival aim was to show God’s love in practical ways.

Breakfast at St Michaels
Early this month Rachael was given an opportunity to talk at St Michael’s, Stoke Gifford’s Saturday breakfast. Once a month they have a guest speaker give a talk and answer questions over a cooked breakfast. 35 people came to eat breakfast and hear Rachael talk about World Sport Ministries and her role within it. It is encouraging that St Michael’s already have an established men’s football group who meet weekly to play. There will be an opportunity to deliver a sports quiz at the end of their season.  We look forward to partnering soon with St Michaels. We know that there are many opportunities on the horizon for people to get together through sport.

St Michael's Football Tournaments
We are happy to report that these are going really well. We are looking forward to another term starting after the half term holiday. Consistence has been key and those who turn up are getting better at skills and playing confidently. Parents have been really supportive and are now paying in advance for their child to play.

CST Meetings
The Bristol team meets every other Monday to plan, pray and socialise. The next meeting is Monday June 1st. If you would like to come along and hear how God is directing the team in sport ministry this year please email or phone: 0117 353-3153

PRAYER SUPPORT:
Please pray for our coaching team as we get ready for our Young Leaders coaching day next week. Pray that they are able to help develop and grow their understanding of what it means to walk with Jesus; For them to develop their faith and understand how God can empower them in anything they do.
Please pray for our team as we plan and prepare for our Get Sported camp in July. Please pray for Akeel as he meets with community and church leaders for support. Please pray that we would meet and exceed the community's need. Please pray that families we have encountered in the past and new ones we haven't met yet would be excited to send their children to join us to learn about Jesus.
Please continue to pray for our Community Football Tournaments that we have been leading in Stoke Gifford. Please pray that we continue to provide a place where children feel they can develop and learn in a fun environment. Please pray that  we are shining lights to the children and their families and that they can see we are living for Christ. Please pray for an opportunity to get to know the families in the area, that word is spread to those who need to hear more. Pray for opportunities to share God's love in the games and on the sidelines with the parents.
