24 Hours for Vocations - And he's off!father matt 17

Fr Matt Anscombe, Parish Priest at ST Bernadette's in Whitchurch, is pedaling from London to Paris this weekend in under 24 hours.

The 300km journey should take him about 12 hours of actual cycling. The journey, starting from Greenwich, will take him to Folkestone. Once through the tunnel by coach and a 2 hour drive up the coast to Dieppe, he will start the 200km ride to Paris at 5am. There will be very little sleep, or a chance to recover until he hits the Champs Elysees on Sunday afternoon.

This bike ride is Fr Matt's contribution to 24 Hours for Vocations (24H4V), a prayer campaign for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, which every parish is asked to consider getting involved in.

Booklets are available in parishes and, as Fr Matt says, it's not all about sitting around and saying formal prayers.

Perhaps you could offer a day's work or some activity for these intentions.
As Fr Matt hopes to show, you can do a lot in 24 hours - what will you do to support this important cause?
