Your church and Kids Matter: strengthening family life in Bristol

We have a fantastic opportunity as the church in Bristol to support family life in our community. By the age of 5, almost half of all children in low-income households have seen their logofamilies break apart. The aim of Kids Matter is to provide churches with a way to offer support before families reach crisis point and instead equip parents and enable children to flourish.

A Kids Matter group is led by a trained Facilitator from the local church over food and drink. Each group meets once a week and the facilitators use both resources and their own experience to help parents develop skills and increase their confidence.

At the end of the Kids Matter programme, parents report feeling more confident in their parenting and having better relationships with their children.

Kids Matter offer churches the training, resources and ongoing supervision to be able to run the programme throughout the year in their community. The next training day in the South West takes place in November.
