Bristol City Council – in partnership with four organisations representing a diversity of communities from within Bristol – are calling on individuals, community groups and businesses from Bristol to register and enjoy the benefits of Can Do Bristol, a revamped website created to support social and community action in the city.

The platform – which already boasts over 1000 members – offers a simple way of helping Bristolians connect with one another, share ideas that could change their neighbourhoods and includes functions which help people take action on the things that matter most to them.

Deputy Mayor Asher Craig, who is responsible for Communities, hailed the development of Can Do Bristol, saying:-

“Our city is bursting with community groups and organisations doing fantastic work to address some of Bristol’s most pressing challenges. We are also a city full of conscientious and kind individuals willing to give up their time and skills to make a positive contribution…
…Can Do Bristol digital platform is an exciting venture because it connects up citizens, businesses and community groups - supporting positive community action to build an even better Bristol. Can Do is a wonderful gift to the city. I encourage you to join the ever growing Can Do community today”

Far from being just a volunteering website, Can Do Bristol also boasts a time-banking feature which allows individuals to offer their time and skills to community groups in exchange for credits which can be redeemed against other timebank offers.

The campaigns feature will also allow individuals, community groups and businesses to partner together around one shared aim; Bristol City Council is currently running the ‘Cleaner, Greener and Healthier’ campaign which shines a spotlight on a number of exciting projects around sustainability and health in the city.
