CAB Special Appeal: More Bristol Food Needed!

THE IMPACT ON BRISTOL OF THE CORONAVIRUS

In Bristol, the number of people reaching out for support from Foodbanks and other similar projects is growing by the day. The demand at just one of Bristol’s larger foodbanks tripled, and continues to increase. Nationally, a recent study reported that over 3 million people are going hungry in Britain due directly to the coronavirus crisis.

Whilst the work of FareShare South West and public generosity carries on - food donations have decreased in recent weeks. The growth in demand now means there is an urgent need to buy-in certain key food items. These items will ensure that Foodbanks can continue to meet the increasing demand.

As the pandemic continues with no clear end, it's vital we continue to support economically vulnerable people. Similarly, we must continue to work hard to build resilience into the food strategy across the city.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The Bristol Churches City Fund (partnering with Bristol Noise and Christian Action Bristol) is raising funds for what is becoming a critical need across the city.

The URGENT task is to raise funds to support the effort to get food to where it is most urgently needed

So, we are asking for an outpouring of generosity from Christians and churches across the city to contribute to this Fund.

The Fund will channel much needed finance to purchase additional food supplies, including those items that are not easy to source elsewhere at the moment.

Every donation will be directed to providing food to foodbanks across the city, and will make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of families.

1.  Make a donation online by visiting www.churchescityfund.org/donate
