Bristol Hospitality Network alongside Asylum SeekersBHN logo

Bristol Hospitality Network (BHN) extends solidarity to people seeking asylum and experiencing destitution, through accommodation and creative community involvement. BHN provides free full board accommodation in host households or in its large house for men in Bristol and community volunteering opportunities and cottage enterprise in solidarity with both male and female asylum seekers experiencing destitution.

We estimate there to be about 150 asylum seekers experiencing destitution in Bristol today.

BHN needs Host Families/Households to offer a place to stay to one of these.
There are currently 7 active households in Bristol hosting asylum seekers experiencing destitution in their homes. We urgently need to increase this number. BHN provides a link person to facilitate initial introduction, move on, troubleshooting and training. BHN also facilitates 6 weekly support networking sessions to which all hosts are invited

BHN needs A man to live as a host in the 12 bedroom house.
We are always looking for men who want to give 6-12 months to the all male house to live there facilitating community life (alongside 1 or 2 others) and sharing with the guys who live there. Rent is reduced to £200 all in in exchange for 4-5 hours facilitation per week and a commitment to live with the other housemates in line with BHN’s values and vision.

BHN needs People to offer their skills to the network.
We currently have needs for artists, print makers, trustees (particularly a secretary and/or a more experienced trustee), people who know about social enterprise, networkers (with links in places of worship, other charities and businesses) and people with knowledge of running an HMO/good at D.I.Y!

BHN needs to raise money for its solidarity fund.
that gives £10 a week to up to 6 asylum seekers experiencing destitution.
You might be willing to donate regularly yourself or you may have a fundraising idea and know the people to see it through. We are open to suggestions!

We have many good chefs in our accommodation at present and are able to provide event catering at competitive rates with all the profit going to our destitution fund. So far we have catered for conferences, birthday parties, grand openings of local green spaces and more!
