Since re-opening on 9th May, 3-4 women have stayed at Spring of Hope every night. 122 nights where these wonderful women would have been at major risk on the streets or in unsafe situations if it weren't for the shelter and support Spring of Hope provides.

The new night staff team are settling in very well. The referral process and ongoing support work from other agencies has been successful so far. The outcome for collaboration is to see women move on from homelessness and abuse into their own homes and a fulfilling life.
Imogen has re-started the weekly 'My Time' group during the day, which has been very encouraging. She has also created a timetable of day time activities including regular visits by Haircuts4Homeless Bristol and pamper sessions by the Beauty of Caring.

Volunteering at Spring of Hope

Now that Spring of Hope is fully open and bustling, there are many opportunities for women to use their time and skills to volunteer. With several different roles, which include client facing and behind the scenes, at different times of the day and night, there is something for every women!

Practical donations for women

The team would be very grateful for practical donations to give to women. Any of the items on their online practical donation page would be gratefully received, however, they are particularly in need of underwear, face moisturiser, conditioner, and pyjamas. If you are able, please click the button below and make a practical donation. Thank you!

The Wild Goose Day Centre

We're almost half way through the year and already the Wild Goose has served 10,362 meals to people who are homeless or struggling with low and insecure income.

Matt, the Engagement Worker, has been busy coming alongside and supporting people with all sorts of different issues. For example, "I had a phone call first thing with X. He was having trouble connecting his Housing Advisor with Dr Jenny from the Wet Clinic, but this seems to be resolved now. He is struggling with depression and alcohol dependency. He has recently had a PIP application rejected, but he thinks it might be because he didn’t mention his drinking. I said it was better to mention it than leave it out as it’s a recognised condition. I gave him a foodbank voucher and booked him in for a haircut."

Practical donations
If you are able to donate, the team are in particular need of tinned tomatoes, sugar and men's underwear. You can donate here: https://www.givetoday.co.uk/inhope/Thank you!
