Updated Energy Footprint Tool Deadline: Access £10k of Funding

The deadline for completing the Energy Footprint Tool (EFT) is now the 31st of August 2023.

The Net Zero Carbon Programme Team and Parish Buying teams have agreed to extend the July 31st deadline by one month. If you have already completed the tool, thank you.

As you might be aware, the EFT is a national Church of England tool for churches to record their energy use and calculate their carbon emissions. This valuable resource not only helps churches gain a better understanding of their energy use, but also enables the wider church to become net zero.

The EFT can be completed on the online Parish Returns System (the same system used for Statistics for Mission and return of Parish Finance). Please login to Parish Returns to complete the Energy Footprint Tool.

Completing the EFT is necessary for you to access a free Energy Audit for your church and then to access £10,000 of funding to reduce your carbon emissions. For more information on the free energy audit and funding please refer to our previous email.

The Energy Footprint Tool aims to accurately measure and manage your carbon emissions. The data we gather from this energy tool is essential for our efforts to get to net zero as it enables us to make more informed decisions and effectively mitigate our carbon footprint.

The tool will ask you for data on your energy consumption and cost for 2022. So try to gather this information from your energy suppliers or the invoices you received in 2022.

For guidance on how to fill out the form you can download step-by-step instructions from the Church of England website.
