The Whitley Lecture
Reconciliation - "From Estrangement to Embrace: Scriptural Storylines and the Gospel's Vision of Reconciliation."
Bristol Baptist College is delighted to invite you to attend this year's Whitely lecture, either in person or online. In this lecture, Rev Dr Paulus de Jong will consider three particular Gospel narratives and the topic of interpersonal reconciliation. Focusing on the visit of the Magi in Matthew's Gospel; the story of the Samaritan woman in John's Gospel; and the story of Zacchaeus in Luke's Gospel, Rev Dr de Jong will argue that these stories are rooted in larger scriptural storylines as 'profound examples of the reconciling power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ - a power capable of transforming estranged families, divided tribes, and treacherous enemies.'
FREE event. Booking required to join in person and to access the online link.
